Apple's 1.1.4 firmware update for the iPhone and iPod touch just hit the wires, courtesy of iTunes 7.6.1.9. Nobody knows what exactly is in store, so obviously those jailbreakers out there might want to hold off while the braver souls among us give it a shot. We'll keep you posted.

Is Bill Gates a closet admirer of Apple’s keyboard-less iPhone? The Microsoft chairman told an audience at Carnegie Mellon University that he thinks the keyboard will soon go the way of the dodo and that people will interact with computers through touch screens and by speaking. “It’s one of the big bets we’re making.”

Sony is one of the first companies to launch an iPhone compatible speaker clock radio. It features a wireless remote with full access to the iPod and iPhone devices' menus (the iPhone handset must be in iPod mode), as well as to alarm clock's radio tuning and volume functions.
