Apple's iPhone, with a new model due out in the weeks ahead, took 19.2 percent of the U.S. market for smartphones in the first quarter of 2008, according to research firm IDC's vendor survey.

According to a HK newspaper, 3G iPhone will be avaiable in HK by July. It also point out that "Three Hong Kong" got the contract from Apple for the offical seller of iPhone in HK and Macau markets.

In these times of fervid speculation, most anything — a stray embedded icon, an off-hand remark from a wireless executive, an iPhone-shaped potato chip — can pass as a viable indicator of forthcoming announcements from Apple.
