Sony Xperia Play now available to pre order at Mobiles!

Last week we filled you in on what you can expect from Sony Ericssons long anticipated Xperia Play, the first PlayStation certified Android smartphone. We can now tell you the wait is almost over and you can now pre order your Xperia Play at Mobiles.co.uk and be playing your favourite games by the end of March!

Whats better is that you will be able to get your hands on one of these sort after phones free from just ?30.00 per month on either Orange or Vodafone.

So is it worth the hype? The Xperia Play runs on Gingerbread 2.3 giving you all the features of a top smartphone, video recording, Bluetooth, a Wi-Fi hot spot and of course a music player along with much more. Game downloads will be available from Sony Ericssons online store and appear on your home screen as an icon making them readily available to play at your convenience.

When the phone is open the controls are very similar to your PlayStation Dualstock controller so learning the controls wont be a problem; With games available such as Crash Bandicoot, Need for speed and Fifa 10 you’ll never want to put it down! You may be thinking that some of those games are available on Android handsets anyway but in our opinion the fact that the Xperia Play has dedicated gaming controls puts it above and beyond any handset out there at the moment.

Yes the phone is slightly larger than your average smartphone these days but you get much more in the way of a unique phone gaming experience your probably not going to get elsewhere. If your worried about the battery life and how its going to cope with gaming, the Xperia Play offers a battery life of 8 hours and 25 minutes talk time and 5 hours 35 minutes of game play which is a decent amount of time for anyone!

The Xperia PLAY gives you everything we have come to expect froma smartphone; great functionality, 5MP camera, a 4inch multi-touch screen and touch of a button access to your social networking sites and emails, keeping you up to date along with being combined with an excellent gaming experience on the go - perfect for any gamer.
