More news for you to get your teeth in to this morning. Hot on the heels of HTC’s leaked Windows Phone 7 ROM which revealed the Mondrian, yet another Windows Phone 7 device has potentially leaked this time from . The leak supposedly comes courtesy of a French Microsoft employee who posted the image on Flickr but what else do we know about LG’s first WP7 offering?
Well, going under the effortlessly cool code name of LG Panther, the is rumoured to fall into Microsoft’s second chassis class as it boasts a slide out QWERTY keyboard in addition to a full touchscreen. The display itself is rumoured to be a capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of WVGA or higher and looks to be at least 3.7 inches judging by the picture.
Other specs are thin on the ground but based on Microsoft’s minimum requirements for Windows Phone 7 devices, the Panther will include a minimum of a 5.0 Megapixel camera and a 1GHz or faster processor. Whilst 1GHz is plenty fast enough for the current crop of , the potential news that Windows Phone 7 device will boast a 1.3GHz Snapdragon processor is something of a game changer. Whether the LG Panther matches or beats the processing power remains to be seen but we wouldn’t bet against it. Keep an eye on the blog for more information as and when we get it.

Odd, considering we’ve yet to see any official devices that will actually run the operating system! The previous benchmark for mobile phone processors is the 1GHz Snapdragon found in the likes of the , and the . The jump to 1.3GHz should ensure Windows Phone 7 zips along at an impressive speed.
Other leaked details suggest the Mondrian will feature a 4.3″ capacitive touchscreen with WVGA resolution, an FM Radio and HSDPA connectivity. The leaked ROM did also include an image of the Mondrian but this is most likely just a render so expect the to look somewhat unrecognisable from this early leak. Best described as the little brother to the all conquering , the name will be familiar to eagle eyed HTC fans; Wildfire featured in and subsequently won a Facebook poll to choose the name of the next HTC release.
It’s not just the name that will be familiar; the Wildfire bears a striking resemblance to its bigger brother in the design stakes, again opting for a combination of brushed metal, matte plastics and an optical trackpad. Of course, the Wildfire wouldn’t be much of a Desire Lite if it didn’t shed any of the weight and so have cut down on the screen dimensions and fit the Wildfire with a 3.2 inch capacitive touchscreen display. On the inside, the Wildfire is a capable Android running version 2.1 and accompanied by HTC’s Sense UI.
New to Android is the Wildfire’s App sharing capabilities. Found an app that you just can’t put down and want to share it with friends? Social networking is key with the Wildfire and the once again includes Friend Stream which gathers and displays content from Facebook, Twitter and Flickr in one centralised location. The social networking integration doesn’t stop there either; the Wildfire’s address book also plays nice with Facebook and co. pulling in profile pictures for caller ID and adding friends birthdays to your calender.
Florian Seiche, Vice President, HTC EMEA stated “Today’s social networks provide an essential forum for friendship with more than 400 million users - many of whom are young adults - actively sharing their lives with their friends through Facebook. HTC Wildfire makes the HTC Sense experience available to young mobile users for the first time. It brings all your communications into one place, whether it’s through Facebook, Twitter, text messages, images or email, ensuring that you are never far away from the conversation and always close to your friends.”
Away from the software, the Wildfire boasts a 5.0 Megapixel camera, Bluetooth, HSDPA, Wi-Fi, GPS and expandable memory and is powered by a 528 MHz processor and 348 MB of RAM. Can you say HTC Desire for the masses? Expected to launch in June, to register for updates and keep an eye on the for more news as and when we get it.

An intriguing little device has leaked online claiming to be Motorola’s next Android powered and if legit, Google’s OS has never seen anything like this before! Various images have been leaked online to the Brazilian branch of tech site and show off a unique square design with a swivel mechanism that twists the screen out to reveal a full QWERTY keyboard, hence the name Flipout.
On first look, this could easily be dismissed as an upcoming fashion device or kiddy phone from Motorola but a closer look at the screen reveals the unmistakable presence of MotoBlur, Motorola’s user interface that sits on top of the manufacturers various Android devices (save for the flagship ). Flipout is expected to debut a newly revamped MotoBlur UI that will offer deeper integration with more social networking sites such as LinkedIn. As for the operating system itself, current rumours suggest the Flipout will be a 2.1 (?clair) device.
As for spec, take this with a pinch of salt but the Motorola Flipout is expected to launch with a 2.8 inch touchscreen, 3 Megapixel camera, HSDPA, Bluetooth, expandable memory, GPS and an impressive 700MHz processor. At this point, all of the above is merely speculation but the quality of the leaked image suggests we can expect an official announcement any day now. Keep an eye on the and we’ll let you know as soon as Motorola lifts the lid on the Motorola Flipout.
