Just over a week ago Apple held a press conference concerning the iPhone 4 and, whilst the majority of the event consisted of back slapping due to the phones phenomenal success, there was an important piece of information for those of you who’d already taken the plunge and bought into the new iPhone.

Amidst accusations of poor signal strength (relating to the antenna design), Apple have once again shown their expertise in swinging a potential PR disaster in their favour by offering free Bumper cases to all iPhone owners who purchase up until the 30th of September. The Bumper case, which is said to all but remedy the issue, can be claimed by downloading a dedicated App from the App Store and filling out the necessary details.

If you’ve already bought your official Apple bumper but still want to get in on the freebie action fear not; simply return to the Apple store with your receipt for a full refund. Nice. For more information head on over to the Apple website to get the skinny on how to get your hard earned dosh back.

More iPhone news now though this time it’s bad news; those holding out for the White iPhone 4 will have to wait a little longer. Apple have confirmed that the White iPhone has been delayed until later this year due to unexpected manufacturing issues. Want our advice? Click here, order a Black iPhone 4 and claim a free case to soften the blow.

It would appear old habits die hard over in Espoo, Finland. Hot on the heels of the official unveiling of the N8, Nokia’s first Symbian ^3 device complete with a multi-touch capacitive touchscreen, Nokia have announced the must have accessory for all old-school touchscreen fans; a stylus.

Whilst this may not sound like breaking news (it’s hard to get excited about what’s essentially a pen that doesn’t write) bear with us on this and you’ll see why you should be intrigued. Capacitive touchscreen displays, which have been put to excellent use in the iPhone 3GS and HTC Desire, don’t typically play nice with your average stylus as they respond to the electrical conductivity of your skin rather than just pressure. Not only does this rule out the use of a stylus, it also makes operating your touchscreen phone with gloves nigh on impossible.

Fear not though, as Nokia are set to release a stylus compatible with the companies capacitive offerings such as the recently announced N8 and first capacitive touchscreen phone the Nokia X6. The stylus is said to help you “easily enter and personalise information on your compatible phone’s capacitive touch screen” and is collapsible and comes complete with a strap to attach to your phone of choice. No word on pricing or availability yet but expect this to start shipping when the Nokia N8 launches in the second half of the year.
